Robert “Craig” Akin, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT

I am a native Texan and have spent most of my life in San Antonio, attending San Antonio Christian High School. Growing up I developed a passion for physical therapy after having had back surgery when I was 14, my physical therapists helped me get back to doing the things I enjoyed pain free. After high school I pursued this passion by studying athletic medicine at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Throughout my time at UTSA I worked as a physical therapy technician and then interned at Methodist as an exercise physiologist working with patients who had experienced cardiac conditions or recent heart surgeries. After UTSA I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of the Incarnate Word, during which I had the privilege of completing a clinical rotation at Foundation! I am Dry Needle certified through Structure and Function. I have continued to improve my skills as a physical therapist by earning my Manual Orthopedic fellowship through the Institute for Athletic Regeneration. Aside from physical therapy, I enjoy hiking, hunting, exercising, and spending time with my dog Atlas. Please email me anytime at
